Individual therapy offers one-on-one attention that allows for a more consistent and intensive focus on issues and struggles than in any other therapeutic context.
Couples therapy is designed to help people who are in committed relationships by providing a trained professional to facilitate conversations that lead to reconciliation and/or greater intimacy.
Family therapy aims to address the family as a whole, discovering the ways in which a family's relational dynamics have affected each member of the family.
Some teens have minor issues and just need a little assistance to get back on their feet and back on track. Others have more serious issues such as teenage depression, anger, substance abuse, and many more challenges. The focus of Adolescent therapy is to address these areas fully within their context.

Individual Psychotherapy has become an accepted practice to those in search of clear minded serenity. Nowadays, individuals seek therapy as a path toward their own mental freedom. If you want to be free from suffering why not seek out a professional who's job it is to help people transcend their mental suffering? Psychotherapists help many high functioning, self actualizing individuals become better able to be successful in their own lives.
Couples Counseling is needed when the lines of communication in a marriage or partnership have broken down, making it impossible to relate to one another in a mutually beneficial way. My role in couples therapy is not necessarily to help my clients to stay together. Often the best thing for both parties is to start over. With that said, if they don't figure out why they can't have a healthy relationship with the person they are with they are likely to have an unhealthy relationship with the next and so on. Couples therapy is an opportunity for personal growth just as much as individual therapy. Yet there are times that some people don't take advantage of couples therapy because they think it is about keeping or forcing the relationship to stay together. With that stated, couples who go to counseling improve their odds at staying together by becoming better at the relationship as well as learning about themselves.
Define your goals. Think about what you would like to get out of counseling. It might be helpful to write a list of events, relationship issues, or feelings that you think are contributing to your distress. Take time before each session to consider your expectations for that session. Self-exploration and change involve hard work, and sometimes painful feelings are stirred up in the process of healing. I am trained to pay close attention to these issues and will probably encourage you to discuss these feelings openly.
